  • When he's not writing, Dave tends to take on weird little projects. This can involve building things from scratch, or repairing/updating older objects. He's currently working on a robot of some kind, but has no idea what he's actually doing.
  • Although he spends most of his time writing about EVs, Dave is a huge fan of classic cars — particularly European cars built between the '50s and '90s.
  • Dave is a massive VR enthusiast and is constantly trying to stay up to date with new developments in what is a rapidly evolving medium. He has previously written about VR's impact on gaming, exercise, and social interactions.

Dave has written for a living for close to 15 years, spending most of that time working as a journalist. During his career, Dave has worked across all formats of media, including print, magazine, online, radio, and in television. These days, he mainly works as an automotive and technology writer — combining his extensive writing background with several of his personal passions. During his time at SlashGear, Dave has published pieces on a wide variety of things, from in-depth features about quantum mechanics to pieces about vehicles celebrities may have owned at some point.

Dave studied journalism at Sunderland University, eventually leaving with a B.A. (Hons) in the subject. His studies also included a year abroad, which he spent at the University of Maine in Orono, ME.
